The cross-linking aid causes a HF neutralizing reaction of the fluoro rubber polymer to form a double bond, where the polyol acts to cross-link the molecular chain.
Calcium hydroxide acts as a reaction aid in this cross-linking reaction and as an acid acceptor for the HF generated in this reaction.
