Inoue calcium corporation became a 100-year company because of the natural bounty of Kochi and the use by local people of the products made from the lime extracted from it.
Over time, it spread throughout Japan and then began to travel the world.
As a company, we want to vigorously expand our contribution to the whole of Japan and the world, with the local area as our axis.
Registration as a Kochi SDGs Promotion Company
In addition to our business activities, we are actively involved in social contribution activities towards the realisation of a sustainable society.
Cooperative forest "Power of the forest"
In order to protect the functions of forests, such as carbon dioxide absorption and water source cultivation, Inoue Calcium Corporation has formed a partnership agreement with Kochi Prefecture's 'Collaborative Forest Development Project with Environmentally Advanced Companies'.
The agreed forests are named "Inoue Calcium 130th Anniversary Forests" and support the regeneration and maintenance of forests that are not well cared for.
The first agreement was reached on 31 March 2012 and is continues today.
Experiential exchange events for forest thinning
Our employees and their families take part in tree-thinning operations, taking it in turns to use a saw under the guidance of a forestry cooperative.
It is a powerful experience to watch a tree fall with a loud noise right in front of your eyes.
After the tree-thinning, recreational activities such as wood crafts provide an opportunity to deepen understanding of environmental issues.
